2023: Obi picks Obasanjos ex-aide, Osuntokun as Okupe’s replacement

The Labour Party has appointed former Political Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, Akin Osuntokun as the new Director-General of its Presidential Campaign.

This was announced by the partys National Chairman, Julius Abure, in Abuja, yesterday. He said the decision was reached after wide consultations with party stakeholders across the board.

In reaction, former LP Campaign Council Director-General, Doyin Okupe, has congratulated Prof. Oshuntokun on his appointment as his replacement.

In a tweet on his official Twitter handle, Okupe expressed optimism that Osuntokun would deliver. According to him, the new DG had been a committed and foundation member of the ‘Obidient’ movement.

Recall that Okupe had, on December 20, resigned from his position as the Obi-Datti campaign D-G following his conviction for breaching the Money Laundering Act by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
